Coastal Adventures Summer Camp

Summer vacation should be all about high quality fun. We embody this at Coastal Adventures Summer Camp. Every day we dive into a new and enriching adventure. Our primary goals are to let children explore the wonders of the stunning Coastside and peninsula, develop respect for nature, and become empowered with outdoor confidence. Kids learn how incredible an outdoor active lifestyle feels and this will follow them into adulthood.

Owner and educator Jon Lowings grew up on the coast and knows the area intimately. Daily adventures are chosen by Jon with care, based on safety first. Jon follows tides charts, weather, traffic, and local news closely, so wherever the children are playing you know they are doing so in a safe manner. Jon and his staff are available via phone or text throughout the day. When driving, safety is taken very seriously. All children are properly seat belted and in appropriate booster seats if applicable. All vehicles are fully insured and drivers are trained by Jon. If you have any special concerns about your child (for example: allergies, medications, behavioral issues, etc.) please do not hesitate to convey these to Jon who will in turn train the staff.

We want children to look forward to an active, wholesome, outdoor summer. Coastal Adventures Summer Camp will be one they won’t forget.

A day in the life of our Coastal Adventures

Drop off begins at 8:30am. Sunscreen is applied by parents and children’s belongings are stored. Children play at the center until everyone has arrived. We generally head out on our adventure between 9:30am and 10:00am. We frequently go to parks, beaches, forests, and special locations such as Great America or Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk. Living on a frequently foggy coast we often are in search of the sun.

Once at our destination we review rules and boundaries and ensure child understanding. Then we have a blast exploring, engaging in active games, creating new things, eating lunch/snacks, drinking water, and playing-playing-playing.

We return to the center at 3:30pm and start indoor activities such as fun games, crafts, and reading. Pick up is between 3:30pm-4:00pm - extended hours are available upon request at an additional charge.
